A review of the indications for intrauterine blood transfusion after 25 years of experience worldwide. Red cell alloimmunisation is where the treatment works best. Its use has also been reported in parvovirus B19 infection, fetomaternal haemorrhage and placental chorioangioma. The paper also sets out the complications the procedure can cause.
